In a statement released by his media assistant, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, warned President Bola Tinubu on Thursday not to call off the planned August 1 protest against the nation's suffering.
Ayodele stated that the protest would take place but that the government should try to lessen its effects by lowering the cost of necessities like food, fuel, electricity, and other necessities.
The pastor added that although he had warned them before voting in another APC government, many did not anticipate the current hardship to reach this degree, which is why it impacts both the rich and the poor.
He implored the president to ignore those convincing him that the nation's economic status is improving.
"People are very bitter and they have hatred towards this government," Ayodele claims. There will undoubtedly be objections; some states will take part, some won't. The administration must take all necessary measures to lessen the impact of the protest, including crashing the costs of food, fuel, and power and finding ways to end insecurity and regulate pricing.
People weren't prepared for the hardships they were experiencing, yet both the rich and the poor were being impacted by the government. He is being duped by those that surround the government. Their goal is the downfall of the regime. Since the administration has done nothing, they should anticipate protests, which will continue.
Despite the increase in the minimum wage, Nigeria needs better welfare. Let this government pursue greater accomplishments for which the populace will be appreciative.
