Members of the Medical Corps Get An Extra ₦100,000 Every Month

In addition to their N33,000 federal stipend, Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia has guaranteed that medical corps members in the state will continue to get 100,000 Naira (N100,000) as a state allowance.

He further stated that in addition to their N33,000 federal allowance, non-medical corps members will still receive N15,000 in state benefits.

During his speech at the official closing ceremony of the Orientation Course exercise, held at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area of the State, the Governor, represented by Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange, Commissioner of Youths and Sports Development and Chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, gave the assurance.

Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations of NYSC Benue State, Yahuza Isa Adamu, made these claims in a statement on Tuesday.

Alia gave the 2024 Batch B stream 1 Corps Members assigned to the state for their one-year national service the assurance that the state administration had taken the necessary precautions to guarantee their security and safety at their Place of Primary Assignment.

He gave the Corps Members praise for their behavior during the three weeks of Orientation exercises and gave them advice on how to start worthwhile projects that will benefit the community and give back to it by providing the people in their host communities with intellectual services that are selfless and will gradually improve their lives after leaving the Camp.

"Community service is one of the most important and demanding aspects of the service year; continue to be purposeful and diligent in completing this national assignment," he stated.

The state's corps members' security and well-being were also reaffirmed by the governor.

Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to the NYSC Benue State administration for their leadership and concern for the Corps Members and declared that he would only stop once the continuing building of the Camp's road network was completed reasonably.

In keeping with the NYSC goals, the State Coordinator, Mr. Abe Dankaro Ashumate, thanked the Governor for creating a climate that allows the NYSC Scheme to flourish in the state. He also complimented the governor on the government's approach to paying corps members and corps doctors who are working in the state on a regular basis with state allowances.

As the corps members began the second portion of their National Service, he also counseled them to represent the NYSC and their individual graduating institutions with honor.
